Hey Tumblr’s! (? tumblings? tumblrings?…) First off, first time blogging something handmade, other than design work. Second… I’m not bragging about these and this is not meant to be a design blog or craft blog. It is just part of who I am and I am sharing that with you!
So all that said… here are the super-duper-easy-peezy-lemon-squeezy (I’m from the midwest) curtains I made!
STEP ONE

MATERIALS:
Buttons (optional)
3 (or more) different patterns (I did 1 yard of two patterns and 2 yards of the third)
Needle (optional)
Thread (optional)
Now, you’re probably wondering why a lot of those say (optional). Well you can finish these many different ways. I did a few examples and then decided at 2 am that I wanted to use buttons. :)
STEP TWO

(side note: if you decided to have one pattern in two yards, have them cut it into 2 separate yards.)
So, you have your yard, fold in half the long way. I chose this because then it makes the strips longer. So decide which way your fabric is the longest and fold in half.
Next start cutting out in 3 inch strips. I took a pencil and pre-marked just for time saver.
Once you’re done, it should look like this!

And like this!

So, now you’ve got all your fabric cut into (some what) even 3 inch strips!

Oh yea… Don’t do this… Not paying attention… started cutting 1 inch strips…
STEP THREE
WAY TO FINISH #1
WAY TO FINISH #1
WAY TO FINISH #2 (the buttons are just pinned on)
So, after you’ve decided how to finish your the tops, lay out your pattern. Or willy-nilly it like I ended up doing.

This is FINISH #1. I started to work on the bottoms and found out I didn’t have enough fabric! So, I decided on FINISH #2 with the buttons and THAT is what I’m going to show you now!
STEP FOUR (OPTIONAL)

Take those really long strips we first started with, and cut them in half.
Grab your buttons and your ruler and your thread. Pop in a horror movie… That’s what I did, I also did these at 2 am. :P

Okay, this is where you will probably go “…Really…really?…” haha
I took my left over strips and measured out a foot from the end and folded at the foot mark. Holding the piece you just folded backwards, hand stitch your buttons on. Then fold your foot in half, cut a big enough hole for the button, but not too big. Put on your rod and push your button through. I got super lazy with the tops, BUT it looks great hanging.
Do that until you get this:

STEP FIVE: (THE FINAL COUNTDOWN)
TIE

TIE

And excuse my messy closet and this really long post. Hope you enjoy and HAPPY CRAFTING!
Peace.Love.
